De Slag om Bourtange 2021
EVENT TE BOURTANGE AFGELAST
Beste Vrienden*innen,
Tot onze spijt moeten wij jullie meedelen dat het event
te Bourtange van 25 en 26 september 2021 niet doorgaat.
De Stichting Vesting Bourtange en de NAN zijn van mening
dat onder de huidige omstandigheden met veel onzekerheden en (financiële)
risico’s het niet verantwoord is om het event door te laten gaan. Ook vinden wij het niet te verantwoorden om tot
17 september te wachten met een go/no-go beslissing.
Op dit moment staat de landelijke overheid (en de
gemeente Westerwolde) geen meerdaagse evenementen toe. Tot 17 september zal op
nieuwe richtlijnen van de overheid gewacht moeten worden. Wij weten op dit moment volstrekt niet hoe die
er uit gaan zien.
Zelfs al zou na 17 september de kans bestaan dat het
event toegestaan is, dan zal dat met maatregelen rond controle op vaccinatie,
testen en afstand regels gepaard gaan, die organisatie (financieel) belasten en
het reenacten sterk beperken.
Daarnaast moeten reeds voor 17 september forse uitgaven
gedaan worden met het risico dat het event niet doorgaat. Re-enactors en
belangstellenden hebben ook al reserveringen gedaan en afspraken gemaakt.
Wij hopen dat er in 2023 weer een Napoleontisch event in
Bourtange mogelijk is.

We regret to inform
you that the event in Bourtange on September 25th and 26th 2021 will not take
place.
The Foundation
Fortress Bourtange and the NAN are of the opinion that under the current
circumstances with many uncertainties and (financial) risks it is not
responsible to let the event go ahead. We also don't think it's justifiable to
wait until September 17 with a go/no-go decision.
At the moment, the
national government (and the municipality of Westerwolde) do not allow
multi-day events. Until 17 September, new government guidelines will have to be
waited for. At the moment we have no idea how they will be.
Even if there is a
chance that the event will be allowed after September 17, this will be
accompanied by flanking measures regarding vaccination control, testing and
distance rules, which put a (financial) burden on the organization and strongly
limits re-enacting.
In addition,
substantial expenses must be made before September 17 with the risk that the
event will not take place. Re-enactors and interested parties have already made
reservations and agreements.
We hope that another
Napoleonic event in Bourtange will be possible in 2023.
